MATERIALS WITH VERIFIED CHEMICAL SCREENING
FineWatchCare uses transparent TPU film to create model-specific protection for selected high-contact exterior surfaces. Rather than relying on broad “eco-friendly” labels, we verify the properties we can document. An SGS-tested FineWatchCare film sample complied with the listed limits for ten RoHS-restricted substances, and every reported result was below the applicable method detection limit. This evidence-led approach helps customers understand what has been tested and why the material is suitable for precision watch protection.
DURABLE, HIGH-ELONGATION TPU CONSTRUCTION
Durability is built into the film itself. In independent ASTM D882 testing, a FineWatchCare transparent film sample recorded 240% elongation at break in both tested directions, with tensile strength of 19.1 MPa lengthwise and 18.6 MPa widthwise. This combination of tensile strength and high elongation demonstrates a flexible, resilient TPU construction that can stretch substantially before breaking instead of behaving like a brittle coating. That material profile supports a durable sacrificial layer designed to conform closely to complex watch contours and withstand the repeated flexing, friction and light incidental contact associated with routine wear on covered surfaces.

TESTED COLOUR STABILITY UNDER UV EXPOSURE
A FineWatchCare watch protection film sample was independently tested by SGS for 100 hours under an ASTM G154 Cycle 1 UVA-340 exposure and condensation cycle. It achieved Grey Scale 5 — the best grade stated in the report — and a measured colour difference of only ΔE*ab 0.1, passing the specified requirement of ΔE*ab below 2. For practical context, a Delta E of about 1 is commonly treated as the smallest colour difference an untrained eye can detect; the recorded 0.1 result is approximately one tenth of that reference level. The result demonstrates excellent colour stability for the tested sample under the stated accelerated UV conditions.

Independent ASTM D882 testing characterized a FineWatchCare transparent film sample in two directions. The sample recorded 240% elongation at break in both directions, with tensile strength of 19.1 MPa lengthwise and 18.6 MPa widthwise. This combination of strength and high elongation demonstrates a flexible, resilient TPU construction that can stretch substantially before breaking. For precision watch protection, that material behaviour helps the film follow complex contours, remain discreet and provide a durable sacrificial layer that reduces direct abrasion and cushions light incidental contact on covered high-contact surfaces.

RoHS RESTRICTED-SUBSTANCE COMPLIANCE
In SGS report SZXEC2201524001, a submitted FineWatchCare colourless transparent adhesive film sample complied with the applicable RoHS limits for lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBBs, PBDEs and four listed phthalates: DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP. Every reported result was ND — below the applicable method detection limit. This independent screening provides a clear, documented basis for confidence in the tested material’s restricted-substance compliance.
